I drove to Indy with the babe and it went surprisingly smooth! We picked up Papa from the airport and had some hang time with the family. The next day we went to a super short wedding ceremony followed by a kick as dance party! Aaaaand then we went to hang with the Gram at the farm to wish her a belated happy 96! It was so good to see everyone. SX drove us home and hagan continued his supremely amazing travel-buddy behavior. We are now enduring the bitter cold curled up on the couch together.
I’ve been too preoccupied celebrating my birthday this week to focus properly on anything else. Saturday was a party with friends, Monday was an evening play date for momma and Hagan, Tuesday was a fancy dinner with friends and tonight is tequila tasting with the neighbor. This weekend hagan and I will drive to Indy for wedding, birthday celebrations and to pick up the Datty. I cannot wait.
I’ve been crazy busy at work and thus, here’s a belated update. Halloween was a freaking blast! We met up with some friends and joined a parade that exploded into trick or treating! Hagan loved every second of it! Hayley has been playing with Hagan this week as SX is in Seattle on a treehouse gig. We will meet up in Indy next weekend!!!!

This week we partied down with Nur by hosting a proper Midwest style dinner as a send off goodbye. Nur has traveled from Turkey to spend most of a year training under me and we have forged quite a friendship. Work without her will be a bit sad. Another party was hosted by my boss as another sendoff for Nur. Hagan loved!! Nur but also found a girlfriend of closer age at the work party. The two were inseparable. It was adorable. While not partying, I was sewing madly to get some owl costumes done for the whole family. I can only hope Hagan lets me dress him up this Friday….
Hagan had a fun week even whilst fighting a cold. We made up games and had quite a blast. He was really enjoying his time with Hayley too. But when Datty came home… Well, hagan tried his very best to give his most stern look but failed at last by giving into his face full if smiles for papa.
It’s been a really great week just hangin’ with the babe. We’ve enjoyed mornings, evenings….and the entire weekend together. He has just been a cuddle bug. It’s all very squishy and sweet.
We prepared all week for the inevitable goodbye to the treehouser by squeezing in momma night off, date night and extra family playtime for the Hagan. In fact, Hagan had a play date with our friends kiddo that historically has been quite a bully. This time was Hagan’s turn to be the rough kid but it seems like despite this behavior that the date went rather well. Definitely gave us some cute pix. We ended the week at the ER with Hagan swelling up from a bee sting. During which, I realized both his eye teeth are cutting. He had a rough night and he was none to pleased about dropping Datty off at the airport. We had a popcorn movie night and cuddles. It was hard to leave him for work today

As the countdown is on for this next treehouse season, we are scrambling to fill our days with life and laughter. We packed up and headed to the jersey pine Barrens for a weekend camping trip, complete with a day at the shore. It was just what we needed. Hagan had a great time hiking while kicking a soccer ball down the trail and playing in the sand at long beach. He was mighty pooped after it all.
We spent Friday evening attending a wedding in the beautiful Susquehanna river area. It was stunning. I would like spend a lot more time there. We slept in Amish country and perused their stores on the meandering way home on Saturday. After a mellow evening attending a BBQ in our backyard, we set to spend Sunday doing family things like; while Datty worked to install a hammock-net on the top bunk of hagan’s new bed, I took hagan to a neighborhood play date. It was a big weekend. I could use a day to recover.
