We didn’t put together a party or significant plan for the big 2! Rather, we upgraded his floor bed into a proper kid bed (bunk!) and re-ordered the living room play area for him… Which may have included a wooden train set 🙂
His grandparents came to visit and we played at Smith park, ate yummy cake and ice cream and paraded around town… And the honey bee festival! It was a sweet birthday time. Wish y’all could have been there.
It was a long week of challenging sleep patterns… I think the eye teeth are on their way. Baby ibuprofen has just saved my life. Other than that, this week has been pretty darn full of fun. We went to the pay what you want night at the museum to see the new re-design of the current facility to be done by Frank Gehry. It really was a spectacular exhibit but Hagan wanted to touch each and every single model. I can’t really blame him… I, too was having a difficult time keeping paws to self. Afterwards, we found a play area where hagan promptly fell in love with an older girl and would not let go… We exited with her and her mom for a smoother transition. The weekend came and after cleaning ALL THE THINGS we found ourselves at an impromptu block party while attempting to go grocery shopping. Our friends were there with their three girls who all fawn over Hagan… And he loves every moment. Finally, we ended the weekend with a trip to visit friends in Lancaster. A very cute town, complete with swimming hole, BBQ party and another girlfriend for Hagan. As usual, too much fun was had and I’m left to my pot of coffee at work. But I would not have it may other way.
After a very full week of auntie Hayley and evening movie at the park, Datty came home and we spent the weekend bouncing around town. We also baked cookies and coffee cake, explored Valley Forge and played in a frog pond… Where, incidentally, poor Hagan fell head first while pointing out a tadpole. He is fine, albeit with a big scab to his nose/lip.
Our friend,Tara from Seattle came for a regatta this weekend! We partied on the river shore and then proceeded to concur Philly!! Cheesesteaks, music, beer in a hammock over the river! It was an insane amount of fun. I’ll be recouping for awhile. Tara left Monday and a few hours later, so did Datty. Treehouse adventure demands three days for scouting new lands… So, hagan and I are flying solo… Tonight, a movie in the park 🙂
Datty and the babe horsed around during the days and momma joined the fun in the evenings… Except weds eve when I had the night off to play creative with a bunch of other hens. I didn’t get much accomplished but am working on a pattern focused sewing project. The weekend was stuffed with massages, unloading furniture, dinner parties and Datty-mommy daytime date! We enjoyed a few hours at the mutter museum of medical anomalies which was amazing followed by ‘Lucy’, a new Luc Besson movie- also amazing. We followed that up with dinner with Hayley, Kris and the babe. Fantastic end to a sunny, fun weekend.
The Datty started the week off at the Zoo with Hagan. They spent the entire day roaming the grounds. Then, our friend invited us to join her and boys at an outdoor movie with concert just for kiddies! It was over the top! The next day Datty spent some time at the grounds of a PreK school that we are interested in that has the kiddies in nature pretty much all of the time. Hagan absolutely LOVED the frog pond there. AAAAND THEN! Datty found a philly family event that appears to be all summer long in front of the art museum where there are free kid activities from mini golf to pink sand pits to water fun features. I joined them after work and we exhausted ourselves in the late day sun. Finally, we finished off the week by driving up to visit auntie Tiff and uncle Kris in western Mass. It was stunning. And Hagan is pooped. As am I. Enjoy.
The treehouse master is back with babe in arms. We spent the weekend lounging, doing laundry, yard sales and hiking in the philly beauty. Hagan is so dang happy to cuddle up to papa again. I’ve been updating my style since it’s new to me to dress for warm weather+biking+work all at once. So, I’ve been playing dress up. I’ve also been crafting gifties for friends. So, Enjoy all these pix.
We spent the weekend in Nashville with all the treehouse men. Hagan was over the moon with daddy. He was a terrific travel companion and quite the busy bee trying to discover all that Nashville had to offer but was overexcited and fell into long, snuggly naps time and again. The treehouse men are working overtime as usual racing the clock for grand finale. SX found some estate sales to peruse and I went thrifting while the men were in the trees. Hagan and I are back home doing the daily grind while Daddy finishes to return weeks end.
Hagan has been all over Philly playing in any kind of water feature. We played with Beth in the Whissahickon and Hayley took him to Fairmount park and some spray parks…and the backyard kiddy pool too. That baby/toddler/kiddo is really developing a sweet personality. I just want to snuggle/smooch on him all freakin’ day. We will be visiting the treehouse build this weekend… we are both super excited to see the datty.
We had quite an adventure trying to get out of town. With car problems to hurricane storms we made it out a day late… But it was well worthwhile. Grandparents and auntie/uncle were there to greet us and we traveled to The Lake for a baby shower complete with new baby and ALL the relatives. It was a wonderful holiday. We came back needing to catch up on days of sleep! Hagan enjoyed cousins, swimming and funning with Grampa.
