Datty got creative this week making gumbo, graham crackers and play dough while the momma trudged thru snow and slush back and forth to work. Oh yes, and we went to a Super Bowl party where we ate yummies and became the famous seattlelites of the party.
We have been spending a lot of time being cozy, watching movies. It was nice to have warmer temps that allowed for Datty and son to visit the zoo animals while the momma caught up at work.
We finally got a membership to the Please touch museum that is a spectacular thing that I’m not even going to try to describe. Only that it’s an indoor wonderland that held Hagan’s interest for 5! Hours! Hayley and SX (aka Datty) had quite the time watching hagan explore for almost an entire day. We had dinner at friends and followed that up with a snow storm that altered Lindsey’s intial travels from Austin that was supposed to be several hours to Philly but instead was via Chicago/Harrisburg/random train stations that lasted severalteen hours. But, she made it just after midnight! Meanwhile Hagan, Datty and I entertained her new Bo that was patiently awaiting his lovely gurrrrl so they could road trip thru the snow to Austin. It has been quite a week!
The snow came and we tried to take Hagan sledding but he would have none of it. Then the snow disappeared and the cold came to freeze the river which was remarkable. Now, the sun is out with 55F making my bike commute utterly fantastic. I’m happy to have frolicked in snow, photograph a frozen river and bike through 55F sun.
Holidays are all packed up and regular schedules are back in business. Hagan is playing with new toys from all around the states while the momma finally gets to go to the gym!!!! and papa plays with his new iPhone microscope lens
We had a date night!!!!! In which we tried Percy BBQ! Holy deliciousness! Thanks to Mikee n CB! and finished the night with ‘saving mr banks’. A delightful movie.
Oh yeah- and I made some baby booties 😀

We spent a lovely week living at the farm, enjoying Gram who is currently 95yrs and counting. It was a much needed reprieve even if I was stuck writing a paper…here are some highlights:
Papa went for a short work trip to CT last week.. And will go back this week too. It looks beautiful up there by pictures, I only wish I could have hitched a ride. Nonetheless, babe got to see his favorite Hayley and mama got to work and play Santa.
This week was slightly balmy and warm that is, until winter settled in. I was ready to be trapped indoors due a paper deadline and so I happily pushed the boys out into the snowy mess. Other than that, all was quiet…
Thanksgiving was held in the main house with our landlords hilarious family! We stayed late and played charades which was much more fun than my nervous nelly self could have anticipated. The next day, lovely Austin Lindsey came to play for an extended weekend! Hagan and the bunny were lovestruck. We traveled to friends houses with Lindsey in tow for turkey leftovers and Christmas wreath arts n crafts. Tours of the town were had and so much fun.
And somehow I managed to get zero pictures of evidence. Regardless! We were delighted to show them the town and eat everything in sight. Everything including cheesesteaks (twice!), fete sou, valley green brunch and home cooked soup. Hagan received an adorable winter hat that he refused to wear until our guests left.. By then the windchill may have been his deciding factor. We were all sad to see them go… Hagan was the most distressed. So, we all snuggled in and finished the weekend with a movie on the couch.
