We have all been playing family time relaxing and running errands…. Like ikea mattress shopping!!!! We have been on a one inch topper with foam for just a year too long… So, a real mattress is crazy cool! The winter has finally left and the balmy warm breeze has come… We are preparing for Easter fun and another treehouse adventure for pop.
We had quite the time in Austin! We flew down, headed to the wedding preparty sans papa and ate delicious BBQ with beautiful music. Then, we picked up papa and slumbered for the big day of meeting up with grandparents and cousins before the evening wedding celebrations. Somehow we stuffed a whole week into a day and had a spectacular time. There was a little train in a park and a stunning bride of the eve. The following day we headed out to post wedding brunch followed by Lindsey and Anthony hang sesh. Lovely trip… I could use a nap.
Hagan and I are cuddling our nights away and funning on the weekends. Hayley has been showing hagan a fun time during the days… We celebrated her bday with fried chicken and loads of chocolate cake that I covered with pink n pretty just for her! Later this week, we will duck into Austin to meet up with SX and Lindsey so we can all party it up at a wedding celebration! I’m terribly excited for such a jam packed couple of days of pure fun in the sun with Fam n friends!
We squeezed a whole lotta life I to our last week to tide us over while the masta’ is away. Datty worked in the garden and house projects breaking to have coffee via text with the momma while she was at work. We had a date night thanks to Hayley for the Hagan watching and CB n Mikee for the gift of awesome BBQ at Fette Sau which included a flight of bourbon! Weeee! It was fun! Even more fun, we will join up with the Datty in Austin shortly for a wedding celebration!!!! Cannot wait.
I finished up one hell of a week and picked up the Datty from treehouse land Friday eve. We had a scrumptious weekend of playground, zoo and patty parade good times. Now it’s back trudging thru snow to work while boys whistle away at home.
Meanwhile it’s been a grind at work with new experiments consuming my brain. Hagan has been privy to a couple play dates and we had dinner with the lovely Rosemary and family. Sweating away at work and cuddling during the nights excited for the homecoming.
The first week solo has gone smoothly. We even went to the zoo to play together! Week two has started showing some challenge with another snow… Tho, not as bad as anticipated, we spent the night at the nanny’s so we would all have a smooth morning. It all worked out well but it’s clear that the boy is ready to have papa home.
He is a bit more needy and fussy… Just like last time papa left.
SX had to flit around town to get supplies for the treehousing gig in Texas….so, Hagan went on adventure tour through Ikea and the like getting a fabulous picture montage. We are flying solo with Hayley and doing great so far. We expect SX to fly home for a week before the next job in Tulsa. Should be a fun season.
We had another round of snow shut us down briefly but things are back to normal if normal is a giant world of ice danger. In any case, we snuggled up and watched some Olympics… Then we tried some new BBQ, tequila and finished off with an awesome set by G. Love and the special sauce. He was on fire!!
We hopped over to Long Island one last time to play with some Brauneller cousins before they move southwest for good. We hiked through snow to get to beautiful and warm indoor gardens, played Settlers of Catan (finally!) and cuddled with puppies.
