Mostly healthy and all happy

I returned from Philly (one picture from my dorm room on the 21st floor!), finally and the treehouser is in Nebraska leaving us to play house by ourselves. Hagan seemed healthy all weekend and I carted him around in the bike trailer from park to park. It was a good kind of exhaustion for me but did not wear out the toddler energy so much. By Tuesday, Hagan got sick again with a small tummy bug. He seems to be fine now while Walnut picked up the ick with an infection… I will be happy when we can have some consecutive weeks of health. I am quite done with all this sickness. I have no plans for the weekend… Perhaps I should go work on that…..

The little sicky and the corporate mom

Its been a couple weeks since my last post… To start, the Datty returned home and the wee Zenobia fan is reunited again! Then the mommy went to Philly for a conference all last week and will head out again this week to UPENN for some more classes. Hagan has been a trouper with daycare since he loves the experience but keeps getting kicked down with random viruses… A cold, a tummy bug, twice with pink eye and now foot and mouth. I’m quite ready for the poor guy to be his happy, healthy self. I’m told this is all very normal but am pretty frustrated at watching him sweat into a ball of pathetic toddler on the couch. We weren’t able to manage an outing for the 4th so we piled into a cuddle puddle and watched movies instead.

Uncle Kris came for a quick visit which was really nice and the boys played synchronized napping on the couch… For hours! Datty leaves this week for Nebraska while Hagan and I hunker down into the Jersey warmth.

Another mom and boy adventure to the treehouse

Hagan and I recovered from a terrible cold virus last week just in time to cough our way up to visit the Datty. During the recovery process, I explored a neighborhood trail of amazing lush greenery and oodles of water. It seemed just the thing for healing my poor head cold. By the time we made it to New York, Hagan and I were in good spirits even with the lingering cough. The crew decided to put a camera on us despite our disheveled appearance so you might see a glimpse of us someday on the show. Eeeeeep! Other than that we had a relaxing time and returned to start Hagan at his exciting new Daycare!!! He loves it already!!!

Treehouse visit and day trip to Nyack, NY.

Friday’s are half days in the summer at my work so, I headed out early, went to the gym, went to see Mad Max, went home to shower and pack, finally picking up Hagan at the usual evening  time. We headed straight up to the house of treehousers for Datty reunion, fun, relaxation, adventure. The treehousers worked a solid Saturday leaving us to find our own fun. We visited the build and went to a park with relaxation and kicking around a ball as primary goals. Then, Sunday the treehousers went to investigate the city while the Zenobias went to Nyack, NY for perusing, park playing and lunch. Hagan and I returned home at a modest hour so could finish laundry and prep for the work week… Only to have Hagan catch a cold which means I’m working from home today. Poor kiddo.

Ps. Datty got to get stitches this week… The Eagle Scout was cutting towards himself.

Sourland Mountain

Treehouser Datty was briefly reunited with the fam and we made the most of it with root beer shakes and hiking in what Jersey considers to be a mountain range – perhaps not a mountain in our PNW eyes but certainly utterly breathtaking. Hagan hiked three miles before giving up! I could not be more impressed! And boy was he pooped!! It was so good. We dropped off the Treehouser in southern NY just an hour and a half north of us. We will be joining up with him over the next few weekends in the beautiful rental house. Like a fancy getaway. Hagan is no longer upset about the daycare drop off and instead just waves goodbye with the sweetest ‘Biiiiiiiiiii’. I can only hope that when we put him in the permenant daycare on the 15th he will enjoy it equally or more…

Hagan and me

The treehouser is off again so Hagan and I have been flying solo this time being different in that Hagan is going to daycare instead of having nanny Hayley with us. Hagan LOVES daycare and hates to leave every evening which makes the drop off tears a little less heartbreaking. We enjoyed a long and relaxing Memorial Day with an excursion to Lambertsville for the Golden Nugget flea market with philly friend, Olivia. We will finish up this week with Treehouser in arms only to send him right out again.

The Shore

We high tailed out early Friday afternoon for the shore last weekend with the Grandparents in their new motor home. It was fun but a touch chilly and beautifully foggy. We enjoyed a camp ground decorated by mini-golf and a giant jumping bubble! Hagan was over the moon with all of it and is still sleeping off the excitement. The Grandparents left us Sunday headed to western Mass to enjoy uncle Kris and aunt Tiff.

We are now saying goodbye to Shiny Dancer, the landcruiser as she threw her second engine and I simply cannot afford ANOTHER! So, we are back to one car. Gratefully, the one car is new, efficient and will cost us FAR less than that poor, sexy landcruiser….

Now for pix:

Blue grass evening and other funning

i always find summer to be the most busy time of year and indeed it is only spring and I find myself bustling about. We went for an evening of neighborhood music where Hagan was the natural hit of the party then we prepped the house for a grandparent visit. We celebrated SXs bday with cake and neighbors. We are headed to the shore today for more grandparent fun coupled with Mother’s Day celebration. Busy, busy!

A Lindso visit and western Mass

Lindsey visited last weekend and we all went up to visit Kris and Tiff in western MA. for fun times on a trampoline! Sean and Lindso went into NY together while Hagan experienced his first daycare (and LOVED IT!). Then we went to see Lindso play music in western Mass followed by trampoline fun…had some technical issues with computers this week and thus the late post…that coupled with a SUPER BUSY conference at work… I am finally relaxing and baking with the in-laws prepping sweets and goodies for Birthday fun.

Philly and the climber

Well, we had a lovely philly trip this weekend. We did some thrifting, playing at Smith playground (85F! Weather!!) and finally dinner and sleepover with my craft girls. We followed with a gardening gone wild Sunday first at Nicole’s house and then at Christa and Tims compound where there were one zillion old and young playing, gardening and eating. I will be going to sleep early all week to catch up. Not a lot of pix, but a lot of fun.
